How does fixed wireless internet work?
Fixed wireless uses a small outdoor antenna at your property to connect to a nearby Wifi Squared tower site. A cable runs from the antenna to your indoor router (routers may be purchased from us), which provides Wi-Fi throughout your home or business.
Is fixed wireless better than satellite internet?
That depends on your location. Where we have a clear path to a local tower site, fixed wireless can offer lower latency, local support, and a responsive connection for video calls and gaming. If tower service is not available, another option may be a better fit.
How much does your internet cost?
Monthly home internet plans currently start at $60. A one-time $150 Installation and Equipment Setup Fee applies to every plan, covering professional installation and provider-owned network equipment. A customer-provided or separately purchased Wi-Fi router is required; optional mesh Wi-Fi units are $65 each. For Mobile Connect the fee is $150 with a Wifi Squared-provided device, or $0 with an approved customer-owned compatible device. Applicable sales tax is added to this fee and to any equipment purchased; monthly internet service is not taxed. Available plans and speeds depend on your address and network type.
Do you have data caps or contracts?
Our fixed wireless and fiber plans have no annual contracts and no data caps. Mobile Connect includes unlimited data and no annual contracts.
Does weather affect the connection?
Normal rain and weather usually have little effect on a properly installed connection. Severe storms, power outages, damaged equipment, or new obstructions such as tree growth can affect service. If there is a problem, our team can help diagnose it.
Is it fast enough for working from home, streaming, and gaming?
Yes, when the plan is matched to the household. We offer options for browsing, streaming, remote work, gaming, smart homes, and multiple simultaneous users. We'll recommend the best available plan based on your address and usage.
How long does installation take?
Most professional installations take approximately two to four hours after service availability is confirmed. More complex properties may take longer.
Why are different speeds available at different addresses?
Fixed wireless speeds depend on distance, line-of-sight, local tower capacity, and equipment. Fiber and mobile availability also vary by location. That is why we check each address before recommending a plan.
Do you offer internet for businesses?
Yes. Many businesses can use our standard plans, and custom speeds, equipment, and network configurations are available for organizations with more advanced needs.
